New Max Planck Graduate Center PI

We are very happy to announce that the Max Planck Graduate Center for Quantum Materials grew by a new member, Dr. Julien Barrier

Dr. Julien Barrier was appointed as new PI of the Max Planck Graduate Center. He will start as a group leader of a newly established MPRG group at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, from April 2026.

His research group "Low-dimensional electronics group", will combine nanofabrication of graphene structures, local probes and quantum transport at ultra-low temperatures to induce, control and explore strong electron interactions in one- and two-dimensional systems.

He is already participating as a PI in our current open call for applications!
